Storing Essential Oils

Because essential oils are volatile substances (meaning they evaporate easily and are often light and temperature sensitive), it is best to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Store in a dark place and in dark bottles to minimize light sensitivity
2. Store in glass bottles as essential oils can react with and break down plastic (and therefore contaminate themselves)
3. Avoid extreme temperatures – essential oils are flammable
4. When possible, keep bottles filled up to avoid excessive air exposure
