How to be an Inspired Mom

What does inspired mean? Why be inspired as a mom? Webster's definition:

  • to inhale

  • to stimulate to some creative effort

  • to motivate as by divine guidance

When you keep your inspiration high, it only takes small amounts of energy to generate large amounts of return.

Think of a time when you were really inspired to do something. Was it easy or hard? Did you use up tons of energy and feel drained or did your energy keep being refueled from within?

What inspires you? What keeps your energy high? That is what we're about to find out! (hint: it has something to do with what is important to YOU!)

Inspiration comes from expressing what is important to you internally, from your heart, your values.

How does it feel when you parent the way someone else tells you you should? Do you have enough energy to carry it out?

For instance, when my husband tells me what to do with one of the kids and it doesn't feel right to me, it usually turns out horrible.

But when I honor the inspiration within, from my heart, what is actually important to me to express at the moment, I am happier, my child is happier and the situation turns out just right. My husband is usually happier too.

It's about listening to your heart. But you have to ask. Ask your heart, it knows the answer. And then pay attention to what it tells you.

So, why even be an inspired mom? That is where the fun, ease and fulfillment come in.

  1. Fun. It is so much more fun to be expressing yourself according to your own ideas and standards and living with the results than taking someone else's word for it.

  2. Ease. The results of listening to your heart come easily! They naturally flow from your inspiration.

  3. Fulfillment. Fulfillment is being filled from within. You don't need any external rewards or stimulation to keep you going. It is already there!

Get really clear on what is important to you in your mothering, express it everyday and fun, ease and fulfillment are yours!

Enjoy!
